Every machine which Hyster sells goes through a nine stage development procedure from preliminary concept and design to the manufacturing and sale of the machinery. Every stage of the development process has been created to guarantee product quality over the equipment's lifetime. Hyster testing centers are able to simulate the life cycle of a lift truck in order to ensure that the product lasts and that it performs as designed.

In order to be sure that we know what all our clients actually want, Hyster performs a lot of research regarding customer requirements. All this research is then used to the products design. Designs are built using cutting edge computer aided design systems that help to reduce the risk of weak points and ensure that positioning of every component is optimal for both service needs and performance. Prototypes are then built in cooperation with specialists and professionals in compartment design and ergonomics. Each component and prototype is put through thorough life cycle testing to pick up on and correct any problems which may reduce the life of a component or a machinery to a less than optimal level. When a machinery comes out of the testing stage of development, we want to be certain that it will work to a high standard. Testing in real life settings is also carried out so that we could gather more information on the performance of the machinery and be confident that it would meet the standards needed to get the job done.
